What if I've always wanted to believe in a God who is too weak to stop me from doing any evil thing I can think of? The "god" that humans naturally want to believe in is no God at all, and "The Shack" plays perfectly into the utterly wrong feelings and desires of humans who are in rebellion against the true and living God, the all-powerful Creator of the universe, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Roger FargoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1130385652843452496.post-59575759470931456732010-01-06T14:15:14.141-07:002010-01-06T14:15:14.141-07:00This book is laughable. Christians need to have enough wisdom to ignore nonsense like this and go to God's Word for truth. Otherwise, they will continue to be deceived by foolishness like "The Shack." "...instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrines, nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the administration of God which is by faith…For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions" (1 Timothy 1:3-4, 6-7, NASB).

PhilAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1130385652843452496.post-68992769955127882392009-08-21T08:27:17.378-06:002009-08-21T08:27:17.378-06:00Great review! He felt it had given him a great insight of the Trinity. I hadn't heard of the book at that time, so I approached it "fresh." I found the book to be deeply disturbing, and at distinct odds with God's holy scripture. May the Lord have mercy on the author and the people who embrace his redefinition of God.

- TimAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1130385652843452496.post-60268496041384659672009-04-16T19:19:00.000-06:002009-04-16T19:19:00.000-06:00Dear Anonymous:

I did read the book from cover to cover, although it became quite tedious to do so.

I stand by my review. The Shack is full of unbiblical statements made by those who are supposed to be the Three Persons of the Trinity, and it therefore can lead people to come to totally false conclusions about the nature of God and a number of Bible doctrines. It is, therefore, worthy of being rejected and exposed for what it is.Ron Livesayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10685550197231995860noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1130385652843452496.post-21189022407418421622009-04-16T13:47:00.000-06:002009-04-16T13:47:00.000-06:00Hi Ron
